Impact

In order to help more people and deliver our social impact mission we have partnered with the following organisations and charities, please read about the amazing things they do below.

NANNY BISCUIT

Nanny Biscuit was set up in 2018 by CAFgas CIC founder James Hunt. The project began by hosting a small Christmas dinner for people who would otherwise have been alone. It was part of James’ vision to help the isolated and increase social awareness and community spirit.

Other projects quickly followed, such as setting up a shopping service during the  Covid 19 pandemic for vulnerable, isolated and shielding neighbours.

Nanny Biscuit and its growing army of volunteers also offered a phone buddy and errand service for vulnerable people in the community during the outbreak.

Winning major National awards for our pandemic response Nanny Biscuit has become an essential organisation in the Deeside area helping the fight against food poverty, loneliness and isolation whilst being completely run by volunteers.

ADFERIAD

Vulnerable people in our society are disproportionately at risk of experiencing additional life challenges, such as mental illness or substance dependency, and require consistent and seamless support to aid their recovery.

Adferiad Recovery provides a broad range of individualised services for some of the most vulnerable members of our community and their carers, with a particular focus on those suffering from mental health problems, substance misuse issues and co-occurring and complex needs.

The charity is recovery-focused and promotes a positive step-by-step approach to achieving lasting change and better quality of life.

Through our partnership we will provide nutritional meals to people in need.

Hope House Children’s Hospices are there to make sure that no one faces the death of their child alone.

They support more than 750 local families who are either caring for a terminally ill child, or whose child has died.

It costs £7.5 million every year to run their services and 80% of this is spent on care. Approximately two month’s income comes from statutory sources and for the other 10 months of the year we are dependent on public support.

Their ambition is to raise an additional £2.5 million each year to make sure they reach every child, mum, dad, brother and sister who needs their help in this area.
